SEOHAND.COM now can accepts multi Lingual characters for tracked keywords. When I started the project I even didn’t keep in mind amount and geographic variety of potential users of the site. Because of this I got an EN/US Latin based charset as primary for the site. Now I am getting many requests from users to add support for their languages in tracked keywords.

Today morning I turned the site under UTF-8 codepage. It means that anyone can add/edit and track keywords on any language which is supported by Unicode UTF-8. I have done test tracking by using native keywords from such languages as:

Arabic, Bulgarian, Czech, German, Greek, Spanish, Estonian, Persian(Farsi), French, Hungarian, Italian, Korean, Dutch, Portuguese, Russian, Turkish.

Unicode support now is available as in the keyword tracking manager as well in final images.

There are list of possibly issues affected by the transfer site to new encoding style:

1. Old keywords are showed with strange characters.

Since the database was able to keep only Latin words I didn’t recode being data to new UTF-8 charset. It means that your information weren’t right convert while the database was turned to new coding style.

2. I cannot see national characters of my language.

Please ensure that you OS and browser support your national encoding also.

3. I still cannot use chars from my language on the site.
