SEOHAND.COM now can accepts multi Lingual characters for tracked keywords. When I started the project I even didn’t keep in mind amount and geographic variety of potential users of the site. Because of this I got an EN/US Latin based charset as primary for the site. Now I am getting many requests from users to add support for their languages in tracked keywords.

Today morning I turned the site under UTF-8 codepage. It means that anyone can add/edit and track keywords on any language which is supported by Unicode UTF-8. I have done test tracking by using native keywords from such languages as:

Arabic, Bulgarian, Czech, German, Greek, Spanish, Estonian, Persian(Farsi), French, Hungarian, Italian, Korean, Dutch, Portuguese, Russian, Turkish.

Unicode support now is available as in the keyword tracking manager as well in final images.

There are list of possibly issues affected by the transfer site to new encoding style:

1. Old keywords are showed with strange characters.

Since the database was able to keep only Latin words I didn’t recode being data to new UTF-8 charset. It means that your information weren’t right convert while the database was turned to new coding style.

2. I cannot see national characters of my language.

Please ensure that you OS and browser support your national encoding also.

3. I still cannot use chars from my language on the site.

I have applied some innovations in data showing functions. Firstly I have changed a way for record site position if it wasn’t fetched under 500 first results. Before this the site save a zero to the site position field and it showed as an absolutely winner for the keyword. Actually it wasn’t a good solution. Now I changed a policy for this and all sites which were not found in 1-500 range will have 501 position.

Please call me over forum if anyone will find this solution not appropriate for the task.

I have done some SEO work on the site.  Hope it will turn up the site position on most SE.

Here a list of done items:

1. RSS XML  feed with site contents is completed.

2. News line feeder is updated.

3.Duplicate pages are removed.

4. New page with site map is added to top menu line.

Good news. Mozilla developers team has tested and added SEOHAND extension release ver. 0.0.3 to the Mozilla repository.

Now a latest extension release is available to download from Mozilla site.

Hi all,

Yesterday I found that Hotmail.com doesn’t accept email which go from our site. Really I was a bit surprised with this issue.

It looks like Microsoft again a bit beyond of RFC standarts. I found that they accepts only emails which signed by DomainKeys signature.

So I need to update my Qmail server for get around this issue. It may cause some troubles in registration and activation process  but I will put all my efforst for make update instant for users.

The extension with new AJAX function provide new features:
1. Track placement of your site at Google and Yahoo  for any keyword you choose.
2. User can check site placement up to 500 position at each SE.
3. Search can be doing as for full URL as well for domains only.
4. Google results will be enumerated and in case of successful  search the found item will be colored for easy navigate.
Actually I am in one step of start update site and extension. So during some time there are may be some issues.
